Certaldo is een stad en gemeente in Toscane, Italië, in de metropool Florence, in het midden van de Valdelsa. Het ligt ongeveer 35 kilometer ten zuidwesten van de Duomo van Florence, 50 minuten met de trein en 35 minuten met de auto ten zuidwesten van Florence, en 40 minuten met de trein ten noorden van Siena. Historisch gezien heeft de stad een belangrijke rol gespeeld in handel en cultuur, vanwege de strategische ligging op het Italiaanse schiereiland en de natuurlijke haven aan de Adriatische Zee.
