Ninove is een stad en gemeente in de Vlaamse provincie Oost-Vlaanderen in België. Het is gelegen aan de rivier de Dender en maakt deel uit van de Denderstreek. De gemeente omvat de stad Ninove en sinds de fusie van 1976 de steden Appelterre-Eichem, Aspelare, Denderwindeke, Lieferinge, Meerbeke, Nederhasselt, Neigem, Okegem, Outer, Pollare en Voorde. Ninove had op 1 januari 2018 een totale bevolking van 38.692. De totale oppervlakte bedraagt 72,57 km² wat een bevolkingsdichtheid van 533 inwoners per km² oplevert.

Eupen en Frans voorheen bekend als Néau in het Frans), is een stad en gemeente in de Belgische provincie Luik, 15 kilometer (9 mijl) van de Duitse grens (Aken) ), vanaf de Nederlandse grens (Maastricht) en vanuit het natuurgebied "Hoge Venen" (Ardennen). De stad is tevens de hoofdstad van de Euregio Maas-Rijn. Voor het eerst genoemd in 1213 als behorend tot het hertogdom Limburg, werd het bezit van Eupen overgedragen aan Brabant, Bourgondië, het Heilige Roomse Rijk en Frankrijk voordat het in 1815 werd overgedragen aan Pruisen, dat deel werd van het nieuwe Duitse rijk in 1871. In 1919, na Tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog werden Eupen en de nabijgelegen gemeente Malmedy door het Verdrag van Versailles van Duitsland naar België overgebracht. Duits blijft de officiële taal in Eupen en de stad is de hoofdstad van de Duitstalige Gemeenschap van België.
