Ciney is een Waalse stad en gemeente in de Belgische provincie Namen. Op 1 januari 2006 had Ciney een totale bevolking van 14.958. De totale oppervlakte bedraagt 147,56 km², wat een bevolkingsdichtheid van 101 inwoners per km² oplevert. De gemeente bestaat uit de volgende subgemeenten: Achêne, Braibant, Chevetogne, Ciney, Conneux, Leignon, Pessoux, Serinchamps en Sovet, samen met een aantal dorpen, waaronder Chapois. Verschillende bieren uit de stad worden nu gebrouwen door Alken-Maes en dragen nog steeds de naam: Ciney Blonde, Ciney Brown en Ciney Special.
