Haltern am See (Haltern aan het meer, vóór december 2001 alleen Haltern) is een stad en gemeente in het district Recklinghausen, in Noordrijn-Westfalen, Duitsland. Het is gelegen aan de Lippe en het Wesel-Datteln-kanaal, ca. 15 kilometer (9 mijl) ten noorden van Recklinghausen. De stad ligt ongeveer 80 kilometer (50 mijl) ten noorden van Düsseldorf.
