Quiliano is een gemeente in de provincie Savona in de Italiaanse regio Ligurië, ongeveer 45 kilometer (28 mijl) ten zuidwesten van Genua en ongeveer 5 kilometer (3 mijl) ten westen van Savona. Per 31 december 2004 had het een bevolking van 7.225 en een oppervlakte van 49,5 vierkante kilometer (19,1 vierkante mijl). Quarto is een boek of pamflet dat is gemaakt van volledige "blanco vellen", die elk zijn bedrukt met acht pagina's tekst, vier aan een kant, en vervolgens twee keer gevouwen om vier bladeren te produceren. De bladeren worden vervolgens langs de vouwen bijgesneden om acht boekpagina's te produceren. Elke afgedrukte pagina presenteert als een vierde van het volledige blanco vel. Het vroegst bekende Europese gedrukte boek is een kwarto, de Sibyllenbuch, waarvan wordt aangenomen dat het door Gutenberg in 1452–53 is gedrukt vóór de Gutenberg-bijbel en slechts een fragment overleefde. Quarto wordt ook gebruikt als een algemene beschrijving van de grootte van boeken die ongeveer 30 cm lang zijn en als zodanig niet noodzakelijk het daadwerkelijke afdrukformaat van de boeken aangeeft, wat misschien zelfs onbekend is, zoals het geval is bij veel moderne boeken.
