Marcellinara is een gemeente en stad in de provincie Catanzaro in de regio Calabrië in Zuid-Italië. De kerstman wordt over het algemeen afgebeeld als een gezette, vrolijke, man met een witte baard - soms met een bril - die een rode jas draagt met een witte bontkraag en manchetten, een rode broek met witte bontboorden, een rode hoed met witte vacht en een zwarte leren riem en laarzen en een tas vol cadeautjes voor kinderen.
