Licata (Italiaans: [liˈkaːta], Siciliaans: [lɪˈkaːta]; Oudgrieks: Φιντίας, waar Latijn: Phintias of Plintis), voorheen ook Alicata, is een stad en gemeente gelegen aan de zuidkust van Sicilië, aan de monding van de Salso Rivier (de oude Himera), ongeveer halverwege tussen Agrigento en Gela. Het is een grote zeehaven die aan het begin van de twintigste eeuw is ontwikkeld en die zwavel vervoert, waardoor Licata het grootste exportcentrum van Europa is geworden, en asfalt en soms ook kaas. Ten westen van de havenstad ligt een reeks pocketstranden, gescheiden door golfvormige landtongen tot wel 40 meter hoog. (Amore 2002).
