Helmbrechts is een stad in het district Hof, in Beieren, Duitsland. Het ligt aan de zuidrand van het Frankenwald, 20 km ten zuidwesten van Hof. De eerste gedocumenteerde vermelding van Helmbrechts dateert uit 1232. Township werd in 1422 door graaf Friedrich V. van Neurenberg aan Helmbrechts verleend.
