Rheydt is een deelgemeente van de Duitse stad Mönchengladbach, gelegen in het westen van Noordrijn-Westfalen. Tot 1918 en daarna weer vanaf 1933 (door een splitsing van Mönchengladbach gearrangeerd door Joseph Goebbels, die daar werd geboren) tot 1975 was het een onafhankelijke stad. Na de fusie met Mönchengladbach behield het centraal station (Rheydt Hauptbahnhof) zijn oorspronkelijke naam, waardoor Mönchengladbach de enige stad in Duitsland was met twee stations, Hauptbahnhof genaamd. Schloss Rheydt, een van de best bewaarde paleizen uit de Renaissance, bevindt zich in Rheydt.
