Davos (UK:, US:; Duits: [daˈfoːs] of [daˈvoːs]; Reto-Romaans: Tavau; archaïsch Italiaans: Tavate) is een Alpenstad en een gemeente in de regio Prättigau / Davos in het kanton Graubünden, Zwitserland. Het heeft een permanente populatie van 10,899 (2018). Davos ligt aan de rivier de Landwasser, in de Rhätische Alpen, tussen de Plessur- en Albula-bergketen op 1.560 m (5.120 ft) boven zeeniveau. Het voormalige vakantieoord in de Alpen bestaat uit twee delen: Davos Dorf (letterlijk: "Davos-dorp") in het noordoosten richting Klosters en verder door de Prättigau naar Landquart, en Davos Platz (letterlijk: "plaats") in het zuidwesten, dat zich opent het dal van de rivier Landwasser in en leidt uiteindelijk naar Filisur. Tijdens het zomerseizoen leidt de Flüela-pas naar het zuidoosten in het Unterengadin.

Thun is een stad en een gemeente in het administratieve district Thun in het kanton Bern in Zwitserland met ongeveer 43.783 inwoners (ongeveer 90.000 in de agglomeratie), per 31 december 2013. Het is gelegen waar de Aare stroomt uit de Thunersee (Thunersee), 30 kilometer (19 mijl) ten zuiden van Bern.
