Buchenbach is een gemeente in het zuidwesten van het Zwarte Woud in Duitsland. Het is gelegen in het district Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg. Het bestaat uit vier gemeenten, de hoofdstad Buchenbach en de dorpen Falkensteig, Unteribental en Wagensteig. De huidige gemeente is ontstaan door de fusie van de voormalige entiteiten van Buchenbach en Falkensteig op 1 december 1971, met Wagensteig op 1 augustus 1973 en Unteribental op 1 januari 1975.

Trier (TREER, Duits: [tʁiːɐ̯]; Luxemburgs: Tréier uitgesproken als [ˈtʀəɪ̯ɐ]), voorheen in het Engels bekend als Treves (TREV; Frans: Trèves [tʁɛv]) en Triers (zie ook namen in andere talen), is een stad op de oevers van de Moezel in Duitsland. Het ligt in een vallei tussen lage met wijnranken bedekte heuvels van rode zandsteen in het westen van de deelstaat Rijnland-Palts, vlakbij de grens met Luxemburg en binnen het belangrijke wijngebied van de Moezel. Karl Marx, filosoof en grondlegger van de theorie die bekend zou worden als het marxisme, werd in 1818 in de stad geboren. Gesticht door de Kelten in de late 4e eeuw voor Christus als Treuorum en 300 jaar later veroverd door de Romeinen, die het Augusta Treverorum noemden ("De stad Augustus onder de Treveri"), Trier heeft een goede titel om als de oudste stad van Duitsland te worden beschouwd. Het is ook de oudste zetel ten noorden van de Alpen van een bisschop.
