Marcellinara is een gemeente en stad in de provincie Catanzaro in de regio Calabrië in Zuid-Italië. Het is een klein dorp in het midden van de smalste strook (landengte) van Italië en ook een van de smalste van Europa, tussen de Ionische (Oost) en de Tyhrennische (West) zee; de afstand tussen hen is slechts 40 km. Het ligt dicht bij zowel de regionale hoofdstad van Catanzaro als de internationale luchthaven van Lamezia Terme.

In 2018 woonden 260.897 mensen in de Comune di Venezia, van wie er ongeveer 55.000 in de historische stad Venetië (centro storico) wonen. Samen met Padua en Treviso is de stad opgenomen in het Padua-Treviso-Venetië Metropolitan Area (PATREVE), dat wordt beschouwd als een statistisch grootstedelijk gebied, met een totale bevolking van 2,6 miljoen.De naam is afgeleid van de oude Veneti-bevolking die bewoonde de regio in de 10e eeuw voor Christus.
