Soresina is een gemeente in de provincie Cremona in de Italiaanse regio Lombardije, ongeveer 60 kilometer (37 mijl) ten zuidoosten van Milaan en ongeveer 25 kilometer (16 mijl) ten noordwesten van Cremona. Het ontving de eretitel van stad met een presidentieel decreet op 27 oktober 1962. In 2018 woonden 260.897 mensen in de Comune di Venezia, van wie er ongeveer 55.000 in de historische stad Venetië (centro storico) wonen. Samen met Padua en Treviso is de stad opgenomen in het Padua-Treviso-Venetië Metropolitan Area (PATREVE), dat wordt beschouwd als een statistisch grootstedelijk gebied, met een totale bevolking van 2,6 miljoen.De naam is afgeleid van de oude Veneti-bevolking die bewoonde de regio in de 10e eeuw voor Christus.
