Amay is een Belgische gemeente in de Waalse provincie Luik. Op 1 januari 2006 had Amay een totale bevolking van ongeveer 14.231. De totale oppervlakte is 27,61 km2 wat een bevolkingsdichtheid geeft van ongeveer 476 inwoners per km2. Het dankt zijn site aan een doorwaadbare plaats van de Maas die in de middeleeuwen nog in gebruik was, maar was begonnen als Gallo-Romeinse vicus van de civitas Tungrorum (Tongeren). De gemeente bestaat uit de volgende subgemeenten: Amay proper, Ampsin, Flône, Jehay en Ombret.

Verviers is een Waalse stad en gemeente in de Belgische provincie Luik. De gemeente Verviers omvat de oude gemeenten Ensival, Lambermont, Petit-Rechain, Stembert en Heusy.
